Mobile Marketing

Mobile Marketing

Not too long ago, the term Mobile Marketing simply referred to the sending of text (aka SMS) messages to a cell phone device. That’s no longer the case. Now, Mobile Marketing encompasses a number of strategies including…

  • Building a mobile subscriber list with the express purpose of being able to send (or “push”) text messages to the entire subscriber base at once. The messages themselves can be plain SMS text (Short Message Service) messages, or they can include graphics and other media through the use of MMS (Multimedia Message Service) standards.
  • Using a call-and-response type of SMS system where the person who sends a particular “keyword” to the listed “short code” is automatically sent a text reply, but not necessarily signed up to a list.
  • Building a mobile-friendly version of your website that delivers pertinent information and looks attractive when viewed on a mobile device. (as the number of smartphones/tablets is strongly increasing… this should be something you strongly consider!)
  • Sending mobile coupons that can be redeemed whenever the recipient shows the coupon on their mobile device to a representative of the business. (or a handful of other ways)
  • Using QR Codes (Quick Response Codes) to either drive mobile users to a particular web page or pre-load information straight into their mobile device.
